Problems placing an order

Why can't I get from my shopping basket to checkout?
If you're in the shopping basket and you can't get to checkout, most probably there is not enough stock of the item (or your chosen size, colour, etc). There's a warning note above the items in your basket but it's easy to miss it if you're concentrating on the checkout button. So if that is the problem, how do you get the item you're looking for? See the next question...

The item I want to buy is out of stock, is there any way I can still order it?
Possibly. We have stock coming in fairly regularly so we may be expecting more of the item you are looking for. Send us an email and we'll try to help.

I'm having difficulties at the checkout stage. What should I do?
To make sure your order is secure and to help us put your order through as quickly as possible, we ask for a certain amount of information from you. It's easy to miss an error message on the checkout pages so if it doesn't seem to work, please check all the text on the page. If you are still having difficulties, the Lucky Devil team are here to help! You can email us or call - we'll get back to you as soon as possible. We can put orders through over the phone or we can help with your online order. Another handy tip: ordering is much quicker and easier after you've signed up for an account. We save your billing address and we keep your shipping addresses in your address book for you to choose from.

I haven't received a confirmation email. Where is it?
We send an automated mail with every order. If you haven't received one there are two likely reasons. The first thing to check is if your spam filter has caught it. Please check your junk mail folder to see if it's been put in there. If you don't have one, see if you can add the lucky-devil.com domain to your safe list. The other probable reason is that there was a spelling mistake in your email address. Either way, we are happy to send you a replacement confirmation of your order - please just email us and we'll get on the case.

My question isn't covered above. How do I sort it out?
Please email us or call . We're here to help. An email is usually best - then we can investigate your problem and get straight back to you. If you let us know how you would like to be contacted (and give us relevant details such as phone number and the best time to call) we'll get back to you to sort it all out.

Your website doesn't give me the option to send a present to the country I want. What's going on?
Our standard service and charges for delivery within the UK.  We are happy to deliver outside the UK but you will need to contact us as delivery rates may vary depending on where you want to send to

Different Currencies

Can I pay if my card is in a currency other than the one shown?
Yes. No matter what currency your credit card is based in, you will be able to make your purchase. The price you pay will be debited in pounds sterling (GBP)and the transaction will be automatically converted by your bank using the bank's rate.

Can I see the price in any currency?
We currently show the price in either British Pounds (GBP) or in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).   You can switch between these two currencies using the 'change currency' box at the top right of your screen.  The base rate we use is GBP.  The exchange rate we use to convert to NZD is based on our current bank exchange rate, which does change, so the NZD price may vary slightly over time.

Delivery

All the technical details and pricing for our delivery policy (including deadlines for important gift occasions like Christmas, Mothers Day and Fathers Day) can be found on our delivery page .

Can I send gifts to more than one address?
You can only have one delivery address per order. If you need to send gifts to more than one address then simply complete your first order with everything for the first address then start a new order for the second address. And so on.

Can I send gifts to more than one person in the same order?
As long as they're at the same address (you'll need to create a new order for each address). And we give you the option of adding a separate gift card for each person, with a personalised message. Our gift card and message service is free.


Giftwrap & Personal messages

Do you offer a giftwrap service?
Yes! Here's how it works...

First up, you can wrap up to 3 items for your £3 (extra items cost £1)

We have 3 giftwrap options. They look like this:

  • The product page is where you choose your giftwrap (and see final bullet point in this section).
  • On the shopping basket page you can enter a message to be sent with the present.
  • Your message will be written on a Lucky Devil gift card and included with the gift. This service is free.
  • In our UK shop, there is a flat price for giftwrap of £3 which covers up to three items in one order. If you have more than 3 items in your order, we charge an extra £1 per item.
  • If you have more than one item for a person we suggest you choose the same giftwrap for all of them – then, if practical, we will put them in a snazzy gift box wrapped in that colour.
  • Also, if you have more than one fragile item we may need to pack them together anyway (in a giftbox with padding). In this case the first giftwrap choice will be used for all of them.
  • For some items giftwrap options may be limited. For example, we may not give any giftwrap options for items where the wrapping is an integral part of the product (such as flowers or gift certificates).

Can I send a card or a message with the present?
Yes you can. Lucky Devil provides, free of charge, a gift card with every present. We will print any special message you give us (see note on this). In your shopping basket you'll see there is a space for a message next to each item. If several items are for the same person you can opt to send them all with just the one message.

Can I really send ANY message?
Within reason - we reserve the right to send the present without the message if we think the message is unreasonably offensive. The judges' decision is final, so if you're in doubt, please email us first and we'll let you know.

Can I create separate gift messages if my presents are for several people?
If your presents are for more than one person, in the gift message box write the item name and then the message that goes with that item. Then below that write the next item name and the next message and so on – we’ll put them into separate cards for you. (Note that we only deliver to one address per order – see the shipping section in the FAQs for more information).

Why should I sign up?
For now the main advantages are the speedy check-out, being able to save your shopping basket for later, being able to save 5 delivery addresses in your address book, and having access to excellent and important information from Lucky Devil. From time to time our members enjoy special offers too. More member benefits are coming soon, so stay tuned.

How do I sign up?
Just click the "sign up" button on the top right of the screen and follow the instructions

Can I quit if I want to?
There's no obligation - you can delete your account at any time and we will not retain your details. We'll happily have you back later too, so don't feel bad.

Payment & Security

Is it safe to use my credit card on your website?
Lucky Devil uses up-to-date secure technology for all transactions. Your details are protected by encryption from Thawte via the shared SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificate from our hosting company (1st Easy) . We also use Protx as our internet gateway. Protx offers AVS (Address Verification Service) and CV2 (Card Verification) to help ensure that the purchaser is the true cardholder (details at www.protx.com). As with any payment - on the internet or otherwise - there is always some small risk. We are doing our best to minimise that risk.

Returns

Can gifts be returned?
Yes, depending on the circumstances and generally within 14 days, but check our returns policy for details.

Suggestions & requests

I'm looking for something specific that I can't find on your website and I don't know where else to look. Can you find one for me?
Maybe. We'll try to help but it depends what it is and when you need it. If you're looking for a purple yurt to be delivered by tomorrow afternoon you may have set your sights a little high...But send us an email . We can't guarantee anything but we'll do our best.


Why don't you stock the particular thing I'm looking for?
We add new stuff to our range quite frequently so who knows, maybe it's already on our list. If you send us an email with the thing you're looking for, we'll see if we can stock it for you soon.
