Where do you deliver to?

 

We can deliver from our UK shop to anywhere in mainland UK (England, Scotland and Wales). Please note that the Channel Islands (i.e. Jersey, Guernsey, Herm, Sark and Alderney) are not within the UK for delivery purposes. If you need us to deliver outside mainland UK, please contact us and we can arrange it for you.

How much does it cost?

Standard delivery items

Most products on our site are standard delivery items.

For standard delivery items, we charge £3.95 for delivering your first item and then an extra £1 for every susbsequent item included in the same order. 

We cap our shipping at £9.95. So no matter how many items you have in your order, you'll never pay more than that for shipping.

Special delivery items

A few products on our site require special delivery because they are larger than usual, perishable, heavy or fragile. We will tell you on the product page whether an item requires special delivery.

For special delivery items, we charge between £5.95 and £7.95.  As set out above, we cap our shipping at £9.95 so if you order more than one special delivery item, you will not be charged more than £9.95.

Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to deliver certain special delivery items together with other items on our site. Currently this applies to our hampers and other food products (e.g. cakes, wine).  If you want to order other items in the same order, you can do this but the items will be sent separately.

Gift certificates

For delivery of gift certificates and CDs, we charge £2.50.

How long does it take?

We aim to dispatch your order on the day that we receive it, provided it’s a weekday and we get it before 3pm (GMT). Where that is not possible, then we’ll dispatch it the next working day.

Delivery within the UK usually takes between 1 and 3 working days from the date we dispatch your order. It might take an extra day or two to get to the Highlands or Islands of Scotland.

Who do you use for delivery and how does it work?

Standard delivery items are sent using Royal Mail’s first class recorded service. This means that someone must be available to sign for the parcel at the delivery address. If no-one is available to sign for the parcel, Royal Mail will leave a card indicating where the parcel can be collected from (usually the collection centre nearest to the delivery address) or alternatively, a redelivery.

Our hampers are sent using our partner hamper company's courier service and someone must be available to sign for the parcel. If no one is available to sign for the parcel, the courier will leave a card with contact details in order to arrange a re-delivery either to the same address or to a different address.

Please bear in mind that most of our deliveries are made during business hours.

UK hamper deliveries

Our UK hampers and other perishable products (e.g. cakes, wine) are special delivery items and so the delivery charge will vary between £5.95 and £7.95.  The delivery charge will be shown in your shopping basket.

Hampers and perishable products can be combined in the same order as other products but they will be dispatched separately.  While we do our best to make sure that they arrive at the same time, we cannot guarantee this. 

Please note that all hampers and other food products are delivered on weekdays by couriers who require a signature.  Therefore, if the person you are sending to is unlikely to be at home on a weekday we recommend that you obtain a work address for them.  It is also very helpful if you can provide us with a contact telephone number for the recipient.

General Delivery note

We do our utmost to get your delivery to your lucky devil on time, and we just about always succeed. However please be aware that we depend, for the majority of our deliveries, on the local postal service or on third party courier companies. We therefore can't guarantee we'll always deliver in the timescales specified. The companies we use are pretty good and don't often have problems, but there may be postal strikes or delays for some other reason. We always track your deliveries where possible and follow up where necessary. If you have any concerns you are most welcome to contact us or to leave instructions in the box provided when you checkout your order.
